From Ridicule through Opposition to Obvious!

German Philosopher Schopenhauer paraphrased:

All truth passes through three stages.
First it is ridiculed.
Second it is violently opposed.
Thrid it is accepted as being self-evident.

"New truth," to be recognized at all, has to be declared. This starts the process from ridicule to opposition to acceptance.
